Planning Permission Granted by London Borough of Merton for Conservation Area Remodelling of Locally Listed House
The London Borough of Merton granted planning permission today for the remodelling of a Locally Listed four storey dwelling in Wimbledon within a Conservation Area.
The works include the demolition of a single storey rear extension and side extension and the construction of a new Orangery to the rear, clearing away previous ad hoc extensions, and the construction of a new three storey side extension including walk-in-wardrobes nestled under the roof of the extension for the Master and Guest Suites.
The application was the subject of both pre-application discussions and negotiations during the planning stage itself to ensure a positive outcome for our client and an approval on the first time of asking, avoiding the need for costly appeals or re-submissions.
Demonstrating an understanding of the importance of the locally listed group of houses while simultaneously acknowledging the need to remove previous unsympathetic extensions and improving the overall functionality of the house allowed both our client and the planners to achieve thier targets.
